Nuheart is honored that its pump development program has officially been labeled a Eurostars project (E! 11118 Pump and motor for VAD). Eurostars is a European funding scheme that supports international innovative projects led by R&D performing SMEs and is jointly funded by the European Union and by the national budgets of the participating Eurostars member states.

Nuheart’s Eurostars project is a collaborative effort between Nuheart and Maxon Motor, Switzerland, to develop a miniature heart pump that can be implanted in the heart of patients suffering from heart failure without the need of surgery, by means of Nuheart’s groundbreaking catheter-based delivery technology.

Eurostars is designed to enable the rapid commercialization of novel technologies that are of high impact to society. Over the next 20 months, the Nuheart project will receive NOK 7,8 million in funding to support the innovative R&D processes that are carried out at Nuheart’s Bergen (Norway) and Minneapolis (USA) sites, and at Maxon Motor’s headquarter in Sachseln, Switzerland.
